Workshop Description: Figurative-Seeing the Big Idea

There are many components that can go into composing successful visual statements. Narrowing ones focus - to understand what these are, what their balance is, and how to utilize them to say whatever it is we are trying to say - is very important in achieving this goal.

This class will utilize the figure in intimate settings, exploring light and shadow - various visual elements (shape, value, edges, color) - their relationships to aid in seeing the "Big Idea".

There will be a demo and individual instruction. This class is designed for the intermediate to advanced student, but all are welcome. The instructor works primarily in oil, students may work with any medium they choose to bring (pastel, watercolor, etc.).
